ABOUT ME

Chris lives behind a laptop in rural Oxfordshire, from where he used to run a taxi service for his son but has now been relegated to waiting for the ‘phone to ring.

Born in the latter part of 1966 he can’t remember the 60’s at all, and he’s done his very best to forget the 70’s as well.

After an all too short career in the army Chris worked in the retail trade for Ratners and in the banking sector for the Halifax before moving to Critchleys Chartered Accountants in Oxford, where he has worked happily and more or less undisturbed for the last 19 years.

Apart from literature Chris’s passions in life are rugby and football. A life-long Chelsea fan, he had to learn to live with disappointment until Roman arrived, and isn’t ashamed to admit that he cried in May 2012 when they won the Champions League. He is prepared to watch any team play rugby, and is amused by Gloucester fans.

The Emperor’s Man is his second novel following the publication of Dog Soldier in 2012, and as any of his ex- girlfriends will angrily tell you he has been writing terrible poetry for many years.
